PEACHAM, Vt., Three local high school students will deliver the July 4 reading of the Declaration of Independence at Peacham Meeting House, continuing a tradition that dates back decades.

The Peacham Historical Association (PHA) organizes the annual event. In past years, a costumed presenter has read from the pulpit, but this year PHA opted to feature three students from the community.

The reading is part of Peacham's broader 250th anniversary celebrations, which include a ghost walk and blacksmithing demonstrations later this summer.
