At approximately 5:18 PM, Newport Ambulance was dispatched to 72 Spring Street, Apartment 2 in Newport City for a 42-year-old male who was feeling suicidal. According to dispatch, the individual had no access to weapons and his plan was to jump off the balcony. He has been talked down the stairs and emergency medical services are meeting him outside. First responders are on scene providing evaluation.
