At approximately 3:16 PM, emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Railroad Square in Newport City for a report of a child on a bicycle struck by a motor vehicle. The child was reported injured. Newport Ambulance and police responded to the scene. Further information about the child's condition and the circumstances of the crash is awaited.
Subsequent initial reports confirmed that mutual aid from Morgan Rescue has been requested. Units reported they were mapping on the Long Bridge, indicating the incident is in that vicinity. Multiple police and rescue units are on scene.
