Sherry Kollmann has become the new president of Vermont State University, taking over July 1. She succeeds David Bergh, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

Kollmann previously led the global campus at New Mexico State University and was selected after a nationwide search. In a statement, she said the people of Vermont State University, faculty, staff, and students, were what impressed her most.

Her top priorities include increasing enrollment and expanding access to higher education across the state, with more flexible options online, on campus, and in hybrid formats.
