At approximately 8:30 p.m., Newport Ambulance was dispatched to 7066 Route 105, Apartment 4 in Charleston, for a 28-year-old female having anxiety or a reaction to her medication. Upon arrival, the patient refused transport to the hospital, stating she needed law enforcement to remove a woman from her residence before she would leave. Vermont State Police were requested to the scene amid reports of a landlord and others yelling outside the ambulance.
By around 9:11 p.m., the landlord left the scene, and the patient agreed to allow first responders to accompany her inside to lock her door. After securing her apartment, the patient consented to transport to the hospital. Units cleared the scene shortly thereafter.
