At 7:17 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, St. Johnsbury Fire Department responded to a still alarm for a propane smell reported on Elm Street near the beginning of Portland Street. The strongest odor was reported at the start of Elm Street, with a resident on Cody Court also able to smell the gas. Fire units are on scene investigating the source of the leak. No injuries have been reported. Further details will be released as they become available.
