At approximately 12:43 PM Friday, St. Johnsbury Police responded to a report of possible fraud. A complainant told officers he had asked his bank to shut off his cards, though it was unclear if the bank complied. Officers quickly developed enough information to conduct an investigative detention of an unidentified female.
Units checked several locations, including Champlain Farms, Legion Field, and the bike path near the pavilion. By 1:01 PM, officers reported they had cleared the area and found nothing further.
Police said the investigation is ongoing. No charges have been announced.
