Green Mountain Farm-to-School has partnered with the Vermont Everyone Eats program to distribute prepared meals to people affected by the pandemic. The group says they are delivering 350 meals per week across the Northeast Kingdom.

The program reimburses local restaurants for preparing meals sourced from local ingredients, supporting both struggling families and eateries. Participating restaurants must use local products.

RuralEdge’s SASH coordinators are delivering meals from Auntie Dee Dee’s Homemade Baked Goods in East Burke and Mooselook Diner in Concord to homebound populations. Newport Natural Market & Cafe is also delivering meals to the United Church of Newport Food Shelf for distribution in downtown Newport every Friday.

From September to early December, Green Mountain Farm-to-School and partners aim to provide 4,000 meals to the community.
