North Country Hospital has partnered with Northern Counties Health Care to bring a Northern Express Care walk-in clinic to downtown Newport, police announced March 4.
The clinic is expected to open this summer in the former UPS store on Main Street. It will offer walk-in urgent care for minor illnesses and injuries such as sprains, bumps, bruises, allergies, respiratory infections, and vaccinations, with no appointment needed.
“Northern Express Care, Newport is an exciting opportunity for our community,” said Brian Nall, chief executive officer of North Country Hospital. “People will have expanded access to immediate care, with no appointment needed, regardless of their ability to pay. This will certainly help meet a need we are seeing in our service area.”
Chris Towne, chief strategy officer at Northern Counties Health Care, said the clinic will be open evenings and Saturdays and can help connect patients with a regular primary care provider.
The two organizations previously partnered to open the Orleans Dental Center in 2016.
