Newport Ambulance was dispatched at approximately 4:16 AM to 94 Lawson Road in Derby for reports of a 6-year-old male actively having a seizure. According to dispatch communications, the child has a cardiac history and was breathing but choking on fluid or saliva. Multiple units including Medic 1, Port 12, and a code 11 unit arrived on scene within minutes. At 4:28 AM, a unit reported being on scene and requested an emergency response. The patient was unconscious and having difficulty breathing. Paramedics transported the child to North Country Hospital, with unit 12 arriving at the hospital shortly after 4:50 AM. By 5:04 AM, units began clearing the scene and reporting back in service. A code 4 emergency response was declared, indicating the scene was secure.
