Motorist Strikes Bear on Whitefield Road in Whitefield

At approximately 8:34 PM, emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Whitefield Road and Deere Road in Whitefield for a report of a vehicle striking a bear. The driver, in a silver Tundra with a trailer, stopped and reported the incident. The bear, described as a young bear, is injured. At 8:48 PM, the driver confirmed their location at 301 Whitefield Road (Route 116) with hazards on. Disposal of the injured animal is being arranged. No human injuries were reported. Additional units from area departments responded to the scene, and dispatchers noted a possible location on the 300 block of Whitefield Road.
