At approximately 11:42 PM on June 1, 2026, Newport Police and Morgan Rescue were dispatched to the Brighton Fire Department at 102 Railroad Street in Brighton for a 13-year-old female experiencing difficulty breathing. Initial reports indicate the patient had a blood pressure reading of 148 over 84. Newport Ambulance unit 5 was also en route to the scene. At 11:53 PM, unit 5 and Newport Fire arrived on scene. Crews evaluated the patient, and at about 12:02 AM, unit 5 transported the patient to North Country Hospital. Newport Fire also assisted with transport. At approximately 12:41 AM, all remaining units cleared the scene and returned to service. The patient's condition is not yet known.
