This is a follow-up to NEK's earlier report (Locals Compete in New England Track and Field Championships, June 18). New details below.
This is a developing story. Details are preliminary and subject to change as more information becomes available.
NEK previously reported that emergency crews responded to a gunshot wound victim on Lost River Road in Easton. New details have since emerged: At approximately 1:35 PM, Easton Fire Department established a landing zone for a medical helicopter at the intersection of Route 116 and Route 112. The helicopter, identified as Twin State, is expected to transport the patient for further medical care. At approximately 1:36 PM, mutual aid was requested from Sugar Hill Rescue to assist at the scene. At approximately 1:37 PM, additional units were requested to assist with the landing zone, which was set up for the Dartmouth Advanced Response Team (DART) and the Twin State helicopter. The landing zone was set up for a medical evacuation, likely related to earlier reports of a gunshot wound in the area. At approximately 1:39 PM, Lyndon Ambulance confirmed a change to the landing zone arrangement. New developments: At 1:39 PM, the landing zone was moved to the Bass School on Lisbon Road. Easton Fire Department was directed to stand down. Shortly after, at 1:40 PM, Twin State was instructed to set up a landing zone at the Village School for DART. Further details are pending.
