The Allen family of Hardwick marked the last day of school on Friday with a walk up South Main Street, ice cream cones in hand. Parents Heather and Jimmy walked with sons Milo, John, and sixth-grade graduate Owen. They bought the ice cream at Buffalo Mountain Market and paused near Front Seat Coffee for a photograph. Milo, who plans to spend his summer at Caspian Lake Beach, said of the final school bell, “It feels like freedom.”
