NEWPORT - Fourteen North Country Union High School baseball and softball players received All-Capital honors for the 2026 season, the school announced. The Falcons baseball team had eight recipients and the softball team had six.
On the baseball side, senior Ben West and junior Zak Fortin were named to the All-Capital First Team. Junior Zak Fortin and senior Logan Cross earned Second Team selections. Honorable mentions went to sophomores Jamison Eckhardt, Preston Humphrey, and Brodie Bingham, along with junior Tripp Roberge.
For softball, senior Randi Fortin and sophomore Aubrey Jacobs were First Team picks. Senior Gaby Griffith and sophomore Hayden Corr made the Second Team. Honorable mentions went to senior Taylor Bingham and junior Peyton Fortin.
Softball coach Victoria Brigham praised her players. "I am so proud to coach these girls, the practice and effort this team continues to make has shown impressive results and I couldn't be more excited to see what next year will bring," she said.
Randi and Zak Fortin became the first brother-sister duo to earn All-Capital First Team selections in the same season in recent memory for the Falcons. Siblings Taylor and Brodie Bingham both received honorable mentions. Ben West played for Team Vermont in the Twin State Classic, and Taylor Bingham and Randi Fortin played for Team North in the North-South Game. All three won their doubleheaders.
