At 2:55 PM, St. Johnsbury Fire Department was dispatched to a general fire alarm activation at 1242 Memorial Drive, at a bank. Multiple units responded, including St. Johnsbury Fire engines and Calex Ambulance. At 2:58 PM, a direct call from the bank indicated that everyone had been evacuated, but the cause of the alarm was unknown. At 3:00 PM, crews arriving on scene reported a three-story brick commercial building with nothing showing from the exterior, but audible alarms were sounding. Firefighters began investigating the cause of the activation. At 3:11 PM, command advised that the incident was under control and units could be recalled. All units were cleared from the scene. No injuries have been reported.
