At 12:50 PM, emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Vermont Route 105 and River Road in North Troy for a report of an elderly female who went over Big Falls, according to first responders. The woman was out of the water but had an altered mental status. The caller was at the Big Falls State Park trailhead. Troy Rescue responded to the scene.

At approximately 1:18 PM, a Newport Police unit arrived on scene. Responders reported seeing two vehicles at the trailhead but no one around. Dispatch reported working to call the patient back to locate her. The search for the patient is ongoing. Further details are awaited.
