At approximately 4:54 PM, Newport Ambulance and Orleans Fire were dispatched to a reported crash on I-91 southbound at mile marker 165.8 in Coventry. Initial reports indicated a possible crash, but upon arrival responders found only a cell phone on the side of the road with no vehicle or driver present. Crews conducted a search southbound toward Orleans but could not locate any vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
