Orleans Ambulance and mutual aid from Newport Ambulance responded to 622 Schoolhouse Road in Brownington at approximately 3:23 PM on May 30, 2026, for a male cyclist in his 30s who was found unconscious after crashing during a bicycle race. Initial reports indicate the man was breathing hard but unresponsive. Emergency crews evaluated and prepared him for transport. At approximately 3:43 PM, a Newport Ambulance unit arrived on scene to assist. By 3:50 PM, a unit arrived at North Country Hospital, and at 4:03 PM, Newport 9 was en route to the hospital with the patient, accompanied by his wife. The nature and extent of injuries remain unknown. This is an active scene, and further details are expected as the incident develops.
