Ambulance Responds to Breathing Difficulty in Newport Center

At approximately 4:59 p.m. Saturday, Newport Ambulance was dispatched to 4234 Vermont Route 105 in Newport Center for a 38-year-old female in an active seizure who was having difficulty breathing. Breathing was described as panting. First responders were dispatched code 4 emergency. Upon arrival, a police unit reported the patient may be suffering from drug usage. At 5:10 p.m., multiple units arrived on scene. At 5:14 p.m., a police unit arrived, followed by Newport Ambulance unit 12 at 5:15 p.m. Further details are pending.
