At 9:32 AM, Wells River Fire Department was dispatched to 2284 Route 302 in Newbury for a fire alarm activation. At 9:40 AM, Engine 1 arrived on scene and reported no signs of fire from three sides of a two-story wood frame commercial building. At 9:42 AM, units declared a working fire. At 9:48 AM, Wells River Command advised that the fire alarm system was still functioning. At 9:59 AM, units cleared the scene. Firefighting operations concluded without further incident.
