This is a developing story. Details are preliminary and subject to change as more information becomes available.

At approximately 12:01 AM, emergency dispatchers received reports of a large tree completely blocking both lanes of the Kancamagus Highway eastbound near the Village of Loon. Shortly after, at 12:13 AM, a vehicle struck the downed tree. Occupants of the vehicle sustained cuts and scrapes, according to initial reports. Lincoln Fire Department, Windward Ambulance backup crew, and a fire department chainsaw crew responded to the scene. The tree also brought down communication wires.

At around 12:20 AM, dispatchers ordered a third tone for ambulance backup. Firefighters set up a chainsaw crew to clear the tree. Police on scene reported that two occupants were inside the vehicle with cuts and scrapes and requested medical evaluation. As of 12:24 AM, a detour was established through the Village of Loon, and the Kancamagus Highway was closed in the area. Notifications were made to New Hampshire State Police and the Department of Transportation.

Further details on the occupants' conditions and the duration of the road closure are pending.
