At approximately 8:45 PM, Vermont State Police received a report of a large bonfire in Holland, where people were reportedly burning a car on top of a pile of wood. At approximately 8:54 PM, police reported that the burn may be unpermitted, and police were requested to respond due to concerns about a large gathering and potential escalation. The fire department in Holland was made aware of the incident.
At approximately 9:00 PM, additional reports indicated that the gathering had escalated into a very large underage drinking party. Police were advised that attendees were starting to scatter and that there were concerns about aggression. A vehicle with Connecticut plates was also reported in the area. Fire department personnel were asked to respond alongside police due to the size of the gathering. Further details are limited at this time.
