At approximately 2:10 PM, a tractor trailer struck overhead power lines on Route 142 in Bethlehem, bringing down wires and a utility pole. The driver reportedly continued without stopping. Bethlehem Fire responded and the road was closed. By 2:25 PM, police issued a lookout for an older red cab tractor pulling a white box trailer, last seen heading toward Whitefield on Route 142. As of 3:05 PM, police are attempting to identify the trailer through its license plate, running the number through several surrounding states after an initial witness report that the plate may have been from New Hampshire. The investigation is ongoing. No injuries have been reported.
