Subject with Knife Sought After Disturbance in Bethlehem

This is a developing story. Details are preliminary and subject to change as more information becomes available.

At approximately 11:17 AM, emergency responders were dispatched to a control barn on Johnson Lane in Bethlehem for a disturbance. According to first responders, the fire chief reported a subject at the scene who was believed to be intoxicated. The subject left the area in a small blue sedan with Connecticut license plates before police arrived.

Further details indicate the subject is described as wearing a green hoodie with military markings and is believed to be in possession of a 6- to 8-inch knife. At 11:26 AM, dispatchers provided a Connecticut plate of BL 11823, and the vehicle was described as a black Honda, though earlier it was reported as blue. The subject has been identified as Stanley Crowell. According to dispatch, Crowell lives on a road off Route 3 in Lancaster. He was previously served a trespass notice at 209 Main Street in Franconia. Police from Bethlehem, Franconia, and surrounding agencies are involved in the search. An earlier report that the subject was located at a hill was incorrect; the search remains active.

At 11:28 AM, further details indicated that Crowell had been disruptive at the control barn, and the fire chief had been called but the subject left before his arrival. Crowell was last seen driving toward Lancaster. The investigation is ongoing.
