Smoke Alarm Activation at Burke Mountain Academy

At 9:17 p.m., West Burke Fire Department was dispatched to 174 Alpine Lane in East Burke for a fire alarm activation at Burke Mountain Academy. Security reported an alarm in zone 13 of the Bigelow dorms. Upon arrival at 9:25 p.m., crews observed visual alarms but found no signs of fire from three sides of the building. The building had not been evacuated. Command was established by C-2. At 9:44 p.m., command advised the alarm was caused by a discharge of a fire extinguisher in a dorm room. The alarm was reset. East Burke and West Burke units cleared the scene.
