At approximately 4:36 PM, emergency responders were dispatched to 401 Western Avenue in St. Johnsbury for a report of a 61-year-old male who believed he was having a stroke. The caller was reportedly speaking well on the phone, according to initial reports.

St. Johnsbury Fire Department Engine 1 and Calex Ambulance responded to the scene. At 4:43 PM, Calex Ambulance (Calex 1) arrived on scene. The patient was later transferred, though additional details were not immediately available.
