Multiple Trauma on Pinnacle Road in Newark

At approximately 9:25 AM, emergency responders were dispatched to 703 Pinnacle Road in Newark for a 60-year-old female who fell from a swing. According to initial reports, the woman fell approximately 5 feet onto a deck, hitting her head and sustaining severe chest pain. She was conscious and alert. Lyndon Rescue and Newark Fire Department responded to the scene. Further details are awaited.

At 9:53 AM, responders on scene reported a multiple trauma. The patient had been pitched off a deck and landed face first into logs. She is now reported unstable, and a helicopter has been requested to the Caledonia County Airport. Additional manpower was requested for extrication. By 9:58 AM, crews reported that they had a truck at the base of the driveway and were working to extricate the patient, noting that the location presented challenges due to the terrain. At 9:59 AM, a code 3 emergency response was activated. Mutual aid was requested from West Burke Fire Department and North Fire Department to assist with extrication. At 10:03 AM, Lyndonville Fire Department was dispatched to 2107 Pudding Hill Road to set up a dark landing at Caledonia County Airport for the incoming helicopter.

At 10:05 AM, Lyndonville Fire Department confirmed setting up a landing zone at Caledonia County Airport, with units staged at 2107 Pudding Hill Road. At 10:14 AM, the helicopter, designated 92, reported an ETA of 20 minutes to the airport. Crews coordinated to load the patient and prepare for air transport. By 10:19 AM, Lyndon Rescue was placed on area coverage as the helicopter landing zone was established. At 10:27 AM, ground unit 91 reported they were on the ATV trail heading out to the main road with the patient, who weighed approximately 111 kilograms. The patient was conscious and awake with an increased heart rate and possible sternum injury. At 10:43 AM, the helicopter crew reported they were about 12 minutes out.

At 11:16 AM, the helicopter, designated Dart, departed with the patient for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Shortly thereafter, Lyndon Rescue units cleared the scene and reported the aircraft was airborne. By 11:22 AM, units were confirmed out of service and area coverage was adjusted. The patient was en route to the hospital for further treatment.
