This is a developing story. Details are preliminary and subject to change as more information becomes available.

At approximately 10:20 PM, Vermont State Police received a report of a missing juvenile in Coventry. The juvenile had gone to a friend's house earlier and was expected home but did not return. Initial texts indicated the juvenile was safe but unwilling to return home with their father, and the scene was cleared.

However, around 10:57 PM, new developments emerged. The juvenile's phone appeared to have died or powered off. The last text received from the juvenile stated, 'I'm scared.' The juvenile had also texted their mother, 'I need you, I'm scared.' The phone battery was reported at 3% and then 1%.

Responders believe the juvenile may be at a residence identified as Mr. Bacon's residence, close enough that the juvenile could have walked there. The juvenile had told their mother they were in the same place. Efforts to locate the juvenile are ongoing. Police are attempting to contact the friend's mother and are using historical data to try to pinpoint the last location.
