At 9:49 AM, Newport Police and Newport Ambulance were dispatched to I-91 Southbound just north of exit 27 in Newport for a report of a woman lying on the pavement in the breakdown lane. The nature of the medical emergency is unknown. Units arrived on scene and found a white vehicle nearby. Fire was later cancelled as the incident was determined to be a medical call, not a vehicle fire. No further details are available at this time.
