At approximately 10:33 PM on July 3, Vermont State Police responded to a report of an assault in Brighton. According to dispatchers, a man was involved in a dispute at a property where he had been told to leave. As he left, a resident threw a metal fence post at him, impaling his hip. The victim declined EMS but wanted to speak with troopers. Dispatchers later reported that a suspect was in custody. Police continue to investigate.
