In a recent column for InDepthNH, George Liset writes about the enduring bond between fathers and children forged through fishing. He recalls his own father, a career Marine who grew up in Wisconsin and found solace in fishing, and how that passion was passed down despite time and distance.

Liset describes teaching his own children to fish from a used canoe, and now looks forward to bringing his grandchildren fishing this summer. He plans a trip with his son Reed to the Trophy Stretch in Pittsburg, N.H., for Father's Day and his birthday, carrying on a family tradition that transcends disagreements.

He writes, “We may not all see ‘Eye to eye’, but fishing tells us that doesn’t matter.”
