At approximately 9:32 AM, Wells River Fire Department was dispatched to 2284 Route 302 in Newbury for a fire alarm activation. First responders arrived on scene at 9:40 AM and reported nothing showing from a two-story wood frame commercial building. According to dispatch communications, the fire alarm system was reported to be in trouble. The alarm company was contacted, and the system was determined to be still functioning. Units cleared the scene at 9:48 AM. No emergency was found.
