At approximately 6:25 PM, emergency responders were dispatched to Route 114 in Burke for a report of a tree down on power lines. Police confirmed the lines are not arcing. A second call was received for 903 Mountain Road in Burke, where three trees are down, some across the road and on power lines. Burke Hall Road is reported closed due to a tree down across the roadway. At around 6:38 PM, additional reports indicated a tree down across both lanes about half a mile south of the Burke town hall, with the blockage extending across the town line into Lyndon. At approximately 6:51 PM, emergency responders reported trees down in the area of East Ireland and Darling Hill Road. A transformer was also reported down in the area. Burke Engine 1 is clearing multiple trees in the area of 3340 Darling Hill Road. The Burke Highway Department is assisting.
At 7:17 PM, crews reported additional trees down on Route 114 about a quarter mile east of the town lines. Further reports indicated trees down on Darling Hill Road and Starling Hill Road. At 7:31 PM, responders were available to assist with road closures, and Lincoln Hill was mentioned as a location with downed trees. Additionally, Water 7 was checking on a house in the 1700 block for a tree down. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as crews continue to clear debris.
At 7:39 PM, crews reported that the north end of Route 114 is blocked at the Burke Hall Road intersection due to a tree down. Crews are coordinating to clear the area.
