At approximately 12:50 AM, emergency responders were dispatched to 340 Old Frankonia Road in Bethlehem for a medical emergency involving a 6-year-old female who fell and sustained a broken ankle with the bone protruding through the skin and significant bleeding. Twin State Bethlehem Ambulance is responding to the scene.
At 12:58 AM, dispatchers provided the responding ambulance with directions to the scene. At 1:03 AM, a responder on scene reported that the child was alert and oriented with a compound fracture and that they were waiting for the ambulance. Police arrived on scene at 1:04 AM. The child is in the bedroom and is doing well, according to initial reports. At 1:15 AM, additional medics were requested to the scene for pain control, according to dispatch communications.
At 1:50 AM, the patient was transported to Littleton Regional Hospital with a trauma alert for a right ankle injury with bone exposed, with an estimated 8 to 10 minute ETA, according to emergency dispatch.
