Carmen Visan of Newport is turning her love of flowers into a small business. She creates infused oils, body creams, organic tallow, dry flower arrangements, and painted items such as lamp shades and syrup buckets, all with floral motifs. Visan also grows flowers, including sunflowers, on her limited land and will begin selling cut flowers this year at her booth at the Newport Farmer's Market.

“I love flowers,” Visan said. “I like to do my own thing. Everything is unique.”

Her scented soap is shaped like flower petals. She sells at the summer outdoor farmer's market and at indoor craft fairs in the winter, including the indoor market in Coventry.

“I can do custom work, but I like to do my own thing,” Visan said.

More of Visan's work can be seen on her Facebook page, Carms Wild Flowers.
