Unhealthy air quality across the Northeast Kingdom Saturday evening is expected to improve after midnight, according to WCAX meteorologist Dave Busch. A brief resurgence of smoke early Sunday morning is possible but not likely to bring air quality back to poor levels.
Showers and thunderstorms should end around midnight, followed by partly cloudy skies. Some light showers may linger in the Northeast Kingdom early Sunday, but the day is expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the 70s. Sunday night lows will be in the 50s.
Monday will bring plenty of sunshine and delightful weather. Tuesday is forecast to be dry through midday, with showers and thunderstorms arriving in the afternoon and overnight. Severe weather is not expected, though heavy downpours are possible. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers, especially early, and highs in the low to mid-70s. Lows Wednesday night could drop into the 40s in colder valleys.
A stretch of summer weather is expected Thursday through Saturday, with partly sunny skies and highs in the 70s, reaching the upper 70s to low 80s by Friday and Saturday. Lows will be in the 50s and 60s.
